You alerted a sheer 25% above your quote, that is a lot!
Depends on the volume of the quote. 25% times 100 hrs = 25 hrs = a lot. 25% times 8 hrs..... Time sure flies while you are searching for the origin of a bug or when bump into an unforseen event / problem.
Why not fixed price?
The peepsystem is in between an hourly rate and fixed price. The peepsystem is applicable in situation where both extremes (hourly rate versus fixed price) is not reasonable or feasable.
You are far too late to alert!
Some peeps can be given upfront. Others not. If it can be done, it should be and we will in most cases.
But if customers want extra or more in the last instance, then we would need a kristal ball to be able to alert upfront.
