Who is involved as an associate?
Who does what?
Who is responsible?
A little explanation is needed here. We expect associates to do their own work. E.g. rights management via ftp. When you need some assistance by collaegues, because you got stuck?! There are some ways to organise that:
- a. Get to the 2Value Joomla Associate skype chat. I will introduce you there and you can ask questions there (support from collaegues there is free and voluntair. So be carefull putting presure at all times. It is like an IRC channel.
- b. Contact the third party service supplier help desk (here: Byte). Often they are very much willing to think about a possible solution.
- c. You "hire" a 2Value dedicated expert who is a collaegue too.
Example conversation
between Projectmanager and associates concerning a third associate Barton.
- "Barton has no role in the project LinkedBook (just a name) yet. So actually, if you guys need him for these tasks, you grant time from your own time-budget (situation c.). Up till this morning at 9 am Barton has used 15min + 15 min. So 15 min each.
If after the problem is solved, we have to conclude that something was wrong with the testing environment, 2Value would contibute to the cost of repairing the platform (what would be: "give back your timebudget spend on work of collaegues")"
What is the impact?
It is not possible to add more budget for you to solve side-issues; it is part of the job. Unless we alert on the situation towards our customer and ask them to pay the extra hours involved. But then you have to be quite sure we excluded internal sources of the problem. That would only be reasonable if we can pin point the cause of the problem (that we get stuck with) is directly related to the complexity of their installation and/or configuration and/or tailormade code.
Non negotiable
Hope this explains. And hope it works for you as an associate. We can not blaim customers of other associates for start-up problem, only the ones that have a clear role in the project, I am afraid. You and all others are and always will be entrepreneur (with great freedom comes great responsibility & some risk) under the hood of 2Value. It is non negotiable for several reasons to try to have a higher authority within 2Value that takes responsibility and assures risks. 2Value is a team that is governed by the rules and methods made by former teams and accepted in Roles en PCONs.
